Art and Science
This design project is for the new Eli and Edythe Broad Center building at USC Keck School of Medicine. A group of USC Roski design students and I created experiential design concepts that reflected on the overall collaborative environment.
The concept, Stem Cell Patterns, is inspired by the scientific process. In science, researchers form a question based on a given topic and conduct experiments in order to come up with an idea that brings new knowledge to the field. Similar to this process, the manipulation of biological graphics reflects on new discoveries and breakthroughs in stem cell research.
My other concept, Wayfinding Through Color, is inspired by the vibrant colors from stem cell and regenerative medicine research. These colors inspire a wayfinding system that help identify the core laboratories on each floor.
